Odd end of 2nd Quarter play

3rd down, on the SD31 yard line, 11 seconds left, SD spikes the ball then punts on the next play. Why not just left the clock run out and avoid the chance of the opposing team returning the punt for a TD?

It's a bug, there should never be a punt after a spike.--Chris
