Top Unit For Each Team?

I was just looking at my roster (ATL), and I saw something pretty crazy: 4 WRs.

There are 3 [color=red]A-[/color] WRs in the league...I have one (aged 24).
There are 26 other [color=blue]B+[/color] WRs in the league...I have 3 (aged 23, 24, and 21).

Combine that with my [color=blue]B+[/color] overall 22-yr old QB, a couple of [color=blue]B+[/color] TEs (24 & 23 yrs old), and I'm suddenly really liking my passing attack now and in the future...


What are other great units in the league?

Check with me in a couple seasons, but my defensive front 7 should be very good. I got almost all players I had ranked in my top 6-8 at each position, none older than 24 and all on the higher end of potential and/or attitude.

I also got some nice young linemen, so I'm hoping to be really strong in the trenches ... well, hopefully all over the field, but those should be my strengths if development goes well. It's all new, so maybe they won't get as good as I'm hoping and I'll know for the future how to draft better.

Henchmen WRs

My top unit is WRs led by 21 yo speedster [url=http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=126996]Vernon Strada[/url] who has 95 agility and 92 speed.
I looked up Vernon's 100 yard dash times (11:32 sec) and he is not the fastest guy on my team. CB Reggie Fielder (87agil/83 speed). How come Reggie is faster?

The numeric ratings are position specific and relative to other players at the position. Also, stamina will impact the 100 yard dash time.

Salaries are relative to other players at the position, ratings are theoretically the same. Stamina is usually the answer on the 100 yard, but Strada is higher there as well. Other things that affect the time are:

- Execution: Better execution can make a difference of up to .2 seconds coming off the LOS (reaction time). Strada's execution is 25, Fielder's is 42, that accounts for 0.02 seconds (not much)

- Strength: Guys with high Strength are generally bigger guys, and players over 70 strength. Neither of these guys fall into that category.

- Random: There is a random factor of up to 0.5%, that can account for up to 0.05 seconds here.

So I'm kind of at a loss. Strada should outrun Fielder. I'll log in as you and look.

OK, looking at these two:

10 yard split:
Fielder: 1.48
Strada: 1.51

20 yard split:
Fielder: 2.52
Strada: 2.56

40 yard dash:
Fielder: 4.37
Strada: 4.42

100 yard dash:

Fielder: 11.25
Strada: 11.32

The only place Strada is better is execution, which is .02, so the remaining .05 has to be random variance. I'm guessing this was a worst-case scenario, with Fielder getting the full benefit of the slight randomness and Strada getting the worst of it. The times will be recalculated after there's been an improvement or decline to Speed. I suspect that if we took 10 readings, 8 or 9 of them would come up with Strada being faster.

I'll go through the code to make sure there's not a bug, though.

This week, Strada is running 11.32 and Fielder is running 11.59, which is more along the lines of what I expected. That gives us a minimum of .35 seconds in possible random variation. This level of random variation is realistic from a "single run" point of view, but it does make it a bit difficult to really measure players against each other.
