Trade Vote
April 28, 2011 at 08:31PM View BBCode
We have received 3 complaints on this trade:
A trade has been completed between the Houston Colts and the Cleveland Spiders. The Cleveland Spiders receive Dom Gale, Lyle Hernandez, Don Bell, Draft Pick - 1996 Round 1 (HOU) from the Houston Colts in exchange for Brian Miller, Joe Abbott, Grady Barker, Tariq Lewis.

Starting sometime today or tomorrow on the game side at www.simdynasty.com, you should see a red link or popup window asking for your opinion. If 66% of the owners who vote, vote to overturn, we will reverse the trade. Owners involved in the trade are not eligible to vote. We will allow all owners at least 3 days to vote.
In the event that there are draft picks involved, the draft runs before voting concludes, and the trade is reversed, we will clone players to make things right for the two owners involved.
See this thread for info on this process:
http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=146616
We will also included a 3rd parties unbiased opinion of the deal. This is from an experienced owner, who only looked at the trade itself and has no knowledge of who owns the teams. I have asked him to post that here when he gets a minute. The reason we ask him to give an opinion is because of past complaints in other trade protest proceedings where owners felt that someone should give an unbiased opinion of the deal. Of course, I don't want to become entangled in these kind of league matters myself so that's why we bring in an outsider to give an opinion. You can do whatever you like with his opinion.
I also ask that you refrain from publicly discussing the trade. Nothing good ever comes of those discussions. Public discussion of the trade may result in you losing your posting privileges.
If either of the owners involved in the trade would like their comments attached to this thread, please post a private note in Support.
Thanks,
Tyson

SO lets try this again with a different trade
Cleveland gets
Dom Gale an OS21 SP with B/C+ attributes. he projects out, if fully developed (and that would be in the minors until age 23 at least), to an A/B type of pitcher maybe a tick higher. A solid starter out there.
Lyle Hernandez an OS26 2B with B+/A- B/B+ attributes. He can hit righties but not so much against lefties. He's A+ at all three IF slots and is a top back up IMO, especially against righties.
Don Bell an OS20 RP with C/B- attributes and a D- endurance. He'll never be a starter. He projects out as B+/A+ to A-/A+ as a shut down closer if fully developed.
First round pick which appears to be the Number 1 overall pick in the draft.
In exchange Houston gets (I hope its a lot)
Brian Miller an OS34 RP with B+/A+ attributes. A stud who's essentially renting a little as he's closing in on retirement. Maybe either a year and a half or a half year rental
Joe Abbott an OS30 C with B-/A- B-/A+ attributes and an A arm. He's OK I guess. Mostly a back up type but can start on a bad team or platoon against lefties. Nothing special
Grady Barker an OS32 SP with A+/B- attributes. A+/B- guys are going to be frustrating as they'll pair a good year with 2 bad years. He's got 2 seasons left before decline and will drop off quickly as C+ control guys become rather useless.
Tariq Lewis an OS35 OF/1B with B-/A+ B/A+ attributes. He's been a great player but is ALREADY a year into his decline.
OK, lets be clear here. This is a horrible trade. Why is Houston, which is the worst team in the league, trading away youth and picks for old guys who are retiring. He should be able to get more than what he got just for the number one pick in the draft. Guys like Lewis and Miller are generally worth a late second round pick at this point in their careers.
Don't know the story with these owners but this is a particularly bad deal.

Barterer thanks for the trade advice but it appears you gave advice on the wrong trade complaint.

That's the trade that's in the link in the opening thread. If that's the incorrect one, you need to bring it to Tyson's attention, I only deal with the one that's put in front of me.

It appears admin has messed up. I don't care one way or the other, but I just figured you wanted to talk about the trade that some of the people don't like.

We had 10 people vote to overturn, and 4 vote to let it stand. That fulfills the 66% requirement, so the trade has been reversed.
