Just wanted to get some opinions on what you think the most and least important positions in the sim are as of now.March 21, 2011 at 02:40PM View BBCode
Least - Holder (LOL)March 21, 2011 at 05:18PM View BBCode
In my limited experience, I have come to think the offensive line is the most important. A great QB without protection doesn't produce as well. And there are always more skilled DE and LB than there are G and T.March 21, 2011 at 05:18PM View BBCode
DT only needs 3 good skills (str, tkl, Rcov). Although exec & Agr would certainly help. Since linebacker and DE are usually very deep it is easy to make position switch.March 21, 2011 at 05:23PM View BBCode

Holder isn't important, until you miss that SB-winning field goal due to a poor hold. On the other hand, you'll never see someone trash talking after the draft saying "Got my A+ holder, y'all better run and hide!"March 21, 2011 at 05:38PM View BBCode
Just my humble opinion..March 22, 2011 at 02:01AM View BBCode

The offensive line is definitely very important, but i dont see how you can say its more important than QB. With a great offensive line and below average QB you're pretty much going to suck, with a great QB and below average line you at least still have a chance to be pretty decent.March 22, 2011 at 04:11AM View BBCode
I can only go by my experience, but my first team went 18-0 with a QB drafted 9th at his position. I had the best G and T. The QB threw for over 5000 yards.March 22, 2011 at 05:24AM View BBCode
Yea i guess it all depends how one interprets 'important'. I was just kind of asking in the general sense, not necessarily on scarcity or what you would bid more on in a draft. Alot of drafts are at least 16 solid QB's deep so sometimes ill bid 0 there and get the last pick, even with doing that i still think QB is the most important position. If your starting QB gets injured for a couple months, usually you're pretty much f'ed.. If your starter at any other position gets injured for a couple months, it hurts a bit but its not really going to make or break your season.March 22, 2011 at 12:27PM View BBCode
I thought myself the OLine was the factor but it didn't worked fine with me.March 22, 2011 at 08:37PM View BBCode
I feel like I've had a bit of success in this game (no perfect season yet of course), and I always have a top 3 LT, a top 3 LG, and a top 3 WR. Get your other G and OT in the top 3 as well, and you're set--regardless of who is throwing the ball.March 22, 2011 at 09:19PM View formatted

I've had some very good lines with terrible QB's and I was not nearly as successful as with the great QB's and decent lines. I think everyone is focusing on what makes your offense successful, when in reality its what you have in place to stop the offense that wins championships.Pages: 1
