HOF Ballot 1992-1994
March 09, 2011 at 11:51AM View BBCode
Hi there.
Here's the ballot for retirees from 1992-1994.
The names on this HOF ballot are in alphabetical order by first name (the number in parenthesis is number of ballots a player has been on, including this one, and 5 is the max). Included in the list are players who are still eligible for the ballot who retired before between 1992-1994. They are split into pitchers and position players.
Pitchers:
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5526661]Bill Loree[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5526608]Jim Lolich[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=4907104]P.J. Lindsey[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5047022]Sam Janvrin[/url]
Position Players:
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5047075]Adam Cruz[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5047116]Bryan Fisher[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5047001]Buck Blefary[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5123992]Kelvin Gross[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5123894]Kid Uchrinsko[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=4906902]Moises Martino[/url]
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5321513]Salvador Pappagiorgio[/url]
To vote copy and paste the names that appear above in a reply to this thread. Next to each players name put "yes" if you want the guy in the HOF or "no" if you don't. You can also U2U me your votes as well.
Write in votes are allowed as well and will automatically be included on the next ballot. Only players who retired in 1994 or before can be write-in votes on this ballot.
Please note that a missing vote on a ballot is equivalent to a "no" vote.
Don't forget that this ballot will be up for at least fourteen days (until some time 03/17/2011).
We will need to get votes from at least eight owners in order for the ballot to be valid.
[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=252122]Click here[/url] to be reminded of the MWL HOF rules.
(We'll be doing three year windows on these ballots until we get caught up. Sorry for slacking as the HOF commissioner!)

Could we perhaps have some discussion on what we think are general guidelines? As a relative newcomer both to the league and the game (this is my first team), I've never done anything related to the HOF and I'm a bit daunted trying to hassle through all the stats and decide what is "worthy" and what isn't.
Thanks!

showmanfred, the HOF selection procedure is unique to each owner. All of us have our own criteria for what we think makes a HOF player.
Some things that you could do is compare the guys on the ballot to guys who have already been inducted. To see who is in the HOF, go to "Stats" in your menu bar, and then click on "Hall of Fame." Also, you could see where guys rank in various stat categories by going to "Stats," then "League Leaders," then changing the year to "All-Time." Another thing that some people do is look at how dominant a player was during his time because even in Sim Dynasty there are different eras (due to changes in the sim engine). You can do this by seeing how many All-Star games a guy went to, how many awards he won, how many times he lead the league in a stat category (which will appear in bold on his player card), etc.
I hope that helps!

Eight owners have voted, thus making this ballot legitimate. However, I'll leave it open for a while longer so the other eight owners can vote if they so choose.

Not that I voted for my player, Jim Lolich, I think that there is a miscount on his votes. He should have 7 votes not the 5 that was last posted, which is one less vote of the 6 that he had on the last count that was posted....

no love for C Adam Cruz?? c'mon guys...a 10 time all-star (6 as a starter) meaning he dominated at the catching position for a full decade..not to mention rookie of the year..and some nice stats in the few seasons he wasn't an all-star.
tough voters here! lol

Sorry Apps. Lolich actually has 8 votes, with one coming from a u2u ballot.
And I didn't vote for either catcher on the ballot because neither one is near as good as the average HOF catcher. Catcher, just like in real life, is a difficult position to play and get in the HOF.

Nope, not from Chi-town. I'm from Texas originally, now in California.
I became a Cubs' fan during the 80's thanks to my dad's love of Harry Caray!
