Glitch in todays game

February 28, 2011 at 06:17PM View BBCode

with the score tied with only 52 seconds left in the half and my team driving in the opposing teams red zone and no sign in the play by play of an injuries my team inexplicably changes QB's and my backup comes in to try and get the TD?????
Also when on the opposing teams 32 yard line and fourth down I have my kicking set to kick the field goal at the 35 yard line or less but for some reason my team went for it on fourth down when they should have kicked a field goal????

For the first one, this probably was a case of fatigue. If you watch the red bars next to players' names you can see that they start to get tired and get subbed out for a few plays at times. It's happened to my QB occasionally near the end of a half, too.

For the second one, do your settings say to try a field goal no matter what the chances of making it? The default settings ask the sim to estimate your chances and base the decision to try the FG on that. So it's not automatic.

your QB thing wasn't a glitch. changes were made in this system starting yesterday. namely, for your situation:
* QB sacks now take a toll on the QB's fatigue in proportion to the defender's Strength and Aggressiveness.
* Fatigue is no longer strictly linear for QB's and RB's; if QB's throw an excessive number of passes or RB's have an excessive number of carries, their fatigue goes up faster. Thus, on heavy passing strategies, you may see your QB sit occasionally unless he has good Stamina.

I do not think any of those things apply as I run a Balanced attack so it is not heavy on the passing game. My QB did not have one sack against him at that point and it was at the end of only the first half so I can not see him being fatigued at all. My Qb has never been taken out for fatigue before and he only threw 18 passes in the half which would = 36 on a full game, certainly not out of the ordinary.
My field goals are set to attempt them from the 35 yard line even if it is only a 40 % chance of making it.

After your earlier report, I looked at the code and decided I'd ramped QB fatigue up a bit too high and reduced it, so hopefully you woon't see this often again.
