The goofiest FG of all
February 20, 2011 at 06:40PM View BBCode
How about 5 minutes and 6 seconds left in the overtime period of a 23-23 tie game. Las Vegas gets a pass which gives them a 1st down and 10 yards to go at the Cleveland 34 yard line.
What would you do on first down? Pass or run?
How about trot out the FG unit for a 1st and 10, 50 yard FG with 5 minutes left in overtime?
Yeah, baby. And of course, he made it. But, uh, yeah, that has to be changed. There must be a setting for that?
05:06 23 23 LV 1/10 CLE 34 1st and 10 for the Sunshine Band, they line up in a Field Goal/PAT; the Thunderstrike line up in a Field Goal/PAT Block.
Raleigh Norton prepares to attempt a field goal for Las Vegas, Hunter Thompson holding.
Kick is into a crosswind to left; Thompson's hold is good.
The 50-yard field goal kick by Raleigh Norton is good!
04:38. 23 26 CLE --- CLE 41 End of game.
Cleveland Thunderstrike 23, Las Vegas Sunshine Band 26

During overtime, on any down, if within yards of the goal line and the estimated chance of making a field goal is at least %, attempt a field goal.
Very botton setting in kicking.

I don't think it should be on ANY down. In real games, teams will run once or twice to center the ball and try to get a few extra yards. The only times there are FGs on 1st or 2nd down is if time is running out

its basically a setting to where you dont want to risk running and fumbling the ball if you have a very good chance a making a field goal. you want to make the field goal % setting on this very high. The default settings on this werent very good i think, the % was way too low.

I moved my setting to inside the 20. If I've got 1st down beyond that, I'm still trying to move the ball closer.
