He is... I wonder if his numbers are pushing my formulae out of shape. I'm considering allowing for defenses to be "adaptable" in that if the QB passes more than usual, the interception chances start to ramp up.--Chris

Yeah, compared to most I have seen in this game, he is fantastic. However, his rating of 99.4 is not unrealistic for an NFL quarterback (at least in this era).

Well he has D execution and didnt do very well in the first preseason half(threw 4 picks). I think that team might have went to a pure pass defense and this team obviously hadnt.
Wouldnt it be better to ramp up the pass coverage for the defense a bit overall or make defensive play calling more important, rather than ramping up interceptions? Seems like it would force everyone into having too similar of offenses if you had to worry about throwing picks left and right after a certain amount of pass attempts.

Wouldnt it be better to ramp up the pass coverage for the defense a bit overall or make defensive play calling more important, rather than ramping up interceptions? Kwami's backup proceeds to throw for 350 yards in the 2nd half for a total of 800 yards passing on the day for Arizona lol

I just finished ramping down pass defense because passing had become nearly impossible.
I'll probably need to take a new approach like I did with running where I found a way to ramp up the middle...
But YAC is high too, so it's not just the number of passes, it's everything. Maybe Arizona just completely dominates Winnipeg. A quick glance at both rosters would seem to indicate that is the case. Your O-line is a brick wall, your QB is a monster.
I'm going to have to preserve the logs for that game to see if there's anything I should do.

Yea YAC seems pretty high. Theres almost no incentive to throw it deep because a high percentage of short - medium passes end up in big gains anyway. There definitely should be more receptions where theres no YAC or just a few yards.

It was my team he played against the first game. I can say I upped my pass defense before the game played, but probably kept it somewhere around 65/35 - pass/run. His backup killed me in the second half though, after my starting corners had been pulled and injured. I think a lot of this is because the second string quartbacks seem to be a lot better than the second string secondary.

that kind of 'gaming the system' ruins the game. no one should be allowed to run the same play every time.

This is true to some extent, as I do make sure that enough "decent" quarterbacks are created for each team to have at least one, meaning backups at that position are likely to be better on average than backups at other positions. (I reduced this a bit after the first 30 or so leagues were formed.)

You just still can't get over this can you...The fact is when you look at my player ratings compared to yours I dominate you in as I said before...I'm working with 6'4" 225-250lb WR's and your CB's are like 5'10" 180....
The problems here aren't so much the coding as it is Strategies...play the right strategies against me you will get better results...
Also....And I know this will come in the future Chris but Coaching Strategies need to be expanded .... like QB pass 1st option 2nd option etc and then the defense can become more complex as well with plays like Man to man double the SE...or Middle run key on the HB......
IMO I dont think code should be messed with as much as Strategies...if you look at the overall matchups vs statistics you got the game pretty well dialed in....JMO....
And Fulla....just to show you what I am talking about I took my other team that is not NEARLY as talented in the passing attack and changed settings identical to my othere and this is what happened....

so the thing is, your team is working like the 2007 NE patriots on steroids (or more steroids. who knows). while it makes sense that you should be getting great results from that, the results you are getting are a bit extreme. Brady to Moss continuously would never have worked, there were still a lot of runs, screens, and short routs that made the deep routs more effective.

Where are the two HB formations? Running was far more important part of the game during the 60's.
There's a disconnect between what the sim says it is and the way it plays.

Changes to the passing engine are going in tonight. It will be easier to complette passes in general; on the other hand, repeatedly throwing pass after pass will tire the QB more, and repeatedly using the same pass strategy will result in the defense keying in and becoming more effective. That's not to say you can't use a pas-heavy offense, but you won't be able to just set your offense to all screens or all shotgun medium passes.--Chris

guy just beat me just doing short and medium passing the entire game. 52 passes/14 runs... if you are in zone coverage it's a 6 yard completion, if you are in man to man its a 6 yard completion with a good chance of a broken tackle for another 10 yards. blitzing never works and usually just results in a roughing the passer penalty if you do happen to get to the qb.
blitzing needs to be more much effective....i like the cb's keying on a repeated play thing but i think you need to tweak it even higher
