hi, I was wondering if there's any way to coach the 2minute warning offense when you're not tied or behind in the game. My team got the ball in its own 20s, while winning by 14 with 0:48 left in the second, and the QB attempted three straight passes, leading to a punt and another chance for the opposition with still 20 seconds to go.February 17, 2011 at 08:18PM View BBCode
That does seem like a very important need. Running out the clock is critical.February 17, 2011 at 09:12PM View BBCode
yes, running out the clock would be good. you have something like that in the baseball sim ..'if your ahead' you can do A, B, C, etc. The game does not distinguish between being behind or aheadFebruary 17, 2011 at 09:28PM View BBCode
"This strategy is in effect when ___ or fewer seconds are remaining in the half (for either team) or game (when tied or behind)."February 17, 2011 at 10:29PM View BBCode
It sounds like all of this is going to be fixed once the "advanced strategies" option is in place. Because my strategy doesn't just change in the last 2 minutes when I'm ahead, it changes in the entire second half, and the last bit of the first half, depending on where I am and how far ahead I am.February 18, 2011 at 09:56PM View BBCode
Yep. Was about to post about this and saw this thread. As CHA, Up 9-3 with 2:58 to go and the ball deep in own territory, we decide to PASS on 1st down with a wild QB, and of course, it gets picked. Have to run the ball there and kill clock but no such setting exists.February 18, 2011 at 10:10PM View BBCode
yeah there should be a kneeling on the ball option.February 18, 2011 at 10:34PM View BBCode
Nursing a 4-point lead in the last two minutes today, we ran, ran, ran and then got a 1st down and knelt down twice.February 18, 2011 at 10:40PM View BBCode
yeah there should be a kneeling on the ball option.Well, it automatically kneels sometimes, but I'm not quite sure on the criteria. I would assume once they have no timeouts and you can run out the clock.
In real life the head coach, OC and QB would be lynched for what happened. But then there are situations where you have a 2 point lead with 2 minutes left, run it three times, don't get a first down, and the other team comes back and scores. Just because people would second guess the play calling doesn't mean it wasn't the correct call.

It seems that AFE's input is to SCORE, anyway and anytime. Another lead well into the 2 minute warning at the end of the first half, and the guy passes like a madman... I've been lucky so far, since I've ended winning both games, (one in the OT, the other for 2 points) but it ain't too good for the coronaries, not to mention the potential of unwanted injuries...!February 19, 2011 at 12:18AM View formatted
