Injured reserve??

February 16, 2011 at 01:35AM View BBCode

Player hurt. Out approx. 16 days. Offered IR as possibility. I don't see where it says if it does. How long is IR?

In the NFL, IR (injured reserve) is for the rest of the season, so I'd assume it's that.

Yep, don't put him on IR. This goes with my earlier suggestion of eliminating IR for single seasons, as people may not know it means out for the year. Someone else had a good suggestion (don't remember who), of having a warning before placing a player on IR that they'll be out for the year

I just made him inactive. Just wanted to be sure. That was my belief. Just wanted to be certain. Thanks

ah crap! i just put my best T on IR with an 18 day injury. a warning would definitely have been nice.

I wonder if you cut him if you can reclaim him and thereby reset the IR status.

i thought of that, but wasn't sure you could reclaim your own guys that fast. maybe i'll try it with someone else and see. if i can't recalim him, there's no sense letting someone else have him. i think every team in our league is 10K+ under the cap, so the aren't going to be any salary issues. (i'm 33K under myself)

No waiver system. If you release the guy, whoever signs him first gets him, so theoretically, you could release him and pick him right back up

so evidently while you can waive a guy and immediately claim him, it seems you can't waive someone who's on the IR.

Once a player is on IR he is stuck there. It is like ... purgatory for football players.

I would hope. That if there is a way to fake out AFE, trade player, dr-activate, waive and reclaim. That Admin would corrct it. Thought the name of the game was Football. Not, out flank the computer. C'mon man!!!

Once a player is placed on IR, he's done for the year. Period. I don't think that there is any way around it at all.

Classics, while I agree that we should be playing "football" and not "out flank the computer" there are some really valid loopholes that would need closing if discovered, so I'm glad that some people are willing to push the limits on what is allowable.

Also, that tackle that DirtDevil lost for the year due to his misunderstanding of the rules of IR might have cost him any chance he had for the division title. There wasn't even an explanation anywhere, or a warning pop-up that said "are you sure you want to place this player on IR, he will be done for the year if you do that." I think that's what the enhancement needs to be.

I agree with all you stated. IR should have similar warnings that are on Bball side. Also, understand the limit pushers are going to expose "holes".

Just went into player guide. It does state players on IR are out for the season as thought. In addition, they are not able to receive IC's while on IR. No issue here, but Big deal when Pay leagues start.
