Innings Count

Hey guys,

Question for the experienced and seasoned around here:

I read you have to be careful with the innings of young pitchers. True? If so, how much is too much?

Thanks!

I recollect that it was 200 IP for pitchers up to 26(?) years of age. I think you'll find it in the FAQs under Health because that's the stat that gets damaged, IIRC.

I once asked the same question the the message board "Team, Draft, and Trade support" and was told that the health of the pitcher would go down, but, that it really doesn't matter that much with pitchers.

I've seen health decline when a 'young' starting pitcher goes over 200 innings (I think it's 100 for a reliever) but as randb says the impact on the player seems to be negligble in terms of injuries. 4 of my 5 starters are D health or worse and none have missed a day injured!

I believe it's 27 or younger at the end of a season where the rule applies.
