We have received 3 complaints on this trade:
A trade has been completed between the Baltimore Oreos and the Toronto Black Sox. The Toronto Black Sox receive Tim Deering, Manny High, Draft Pick - 2004 Round 3 (BAL), Draft Pick - 2004 Round 1 (BAL) from the Baltimore Oreos in exchange for Ozzie Smith, Leon Day, Draft Pick - 2005 Round 1 (TOR).

Starting sometime today or tomorrow on the game side at www.simdynasty.com, you should see a red link or popup window asking for your opinion. If 66% of the owners who vote, vote to overturn, we will reverse the trade. Owners involved in the trade are not eligible to vote. We will allow all owners at least 3 days to vote.
In the event that there are draft picks involved, the draft runs before voting concludes, and the trade is reversed, we will clone players to make things right for the two owners involved.
See this thread for info on this process:

We will also included a 3rd parties unbiased opinion of the deal. This is from an experienced owner, who only looked at the trade itself and has no knowledge of who owns the teams. I have asked him to post that here when he gets a minute. The reason we ask him to give an opinion is because of past complaints in other trade protest proceedings where owners felt that someone should give an unbiased opinion of the deal. Of course, I don't want to become entangled in these kind of league matters myself so that's why we bring in an outsider to give an opinion. You can do whatever you like with his opinion.
I also ask that you refrain from publicly discussing the trade. Nothing good ever comes of those discussions. Public discussion of the trade may result in you losing your posting privileges.
If either of the owners involved in the trade would like their comments attached to this thread, please post a private note in Support.
Thanks,
Tyson

OK so lets see what we have on this one.
Baltimore gets
Leon Day an OS25 SP with B+/A attributes. I'd project him to be a top of the rotation guy on a good team either a 1 or 2 starter in a year or two. Can be a 1 now on a developing team but is better suited currently for a 3rd starter role. Should continue to develop another couple of years though and become one of the better pitchers in the league from age 28-34
Ozzie Smith an OS32 SS with A+/B- attributes from both sides. This type of hitter can be effective if the A+ is maxed out but will tend to show some year to year inconsistencies. Given his past history he's unlikely to be maxed out in the contact numbers and should post .270 (+/- .020) averages over a full season. He's not going to hit many home runs. Ideally suited to the back up infielder role.
1st round pick
Toronto gets
Tim Deering an OS23 OF/SS with B-/B+ attributes. I'd project that he tops out in the B/A- range which is fine for a utility guy/4th or 5th outfielder but isn't going to be more than that.
Manny High an OS19 SP (currently listed as RP but projects as a starter) with C/B attributes. I'll project that Manny would peak out in the B+/A+ type of range. A solid ace type pitcher. He will take some investment to get there though (5 CPs for 4-5 years and then innings in the majors)
3rd round pick-no value
1st round pick
Essentially for me this trade looks like High for Day and a swap of 1st round picks. The teams are fairly even in the standings so they should be relatively equal just in different years. Smith and Deering are generally going to be back ups although Deering is younger he's also got some developing to go through.
Thus it appears to be Day for High. Both will be good pitchers. Day is fairly well developed while High will take some investment to get to that point but he's also 7 years younger meaning he's more likely to be around for a pennant run on a team that is currently rebuilding.
It may lean slightly to Baltimore on this one but not by a whole lot IMO. I think that High will actually produce better stats if properly developed the difference in current value being that the costs for Day are already sunk.

We had 11 people vote. 8 voted to overturn, 3 voted to let it stand. That meets the 66% threshold, so the trade will be overturned shortly.

Since the draft has past, I included the players drafted by TOR/WAS in the deal. If the Baltimore owner would have drafted different players at these spots, please post a note in Support and I will clone those players to take the spots of these guys.
