Hmmm. Might be interesting to try. But lets continue your example and say you went for it in 1965, but the option is automatically turned off for, say, the next 4 seasons, including 66 and 67, so you could use it again in 1969. And would you declare "Go for it" before the bidding period, or after, if you went over and didnt want a penalty?January 19, 2011 at 12:19AM View BBCode
Maybe this is a way to take a percent of money that wasn't spent under the cap and let you carry it to the couple of years. Something like 50% of money under the cap (the 80 million number) can be used in the next year, 30% in year 2 and 20% in year 3. So if you spent 60 million in 1960, 61 and 62, then you could have a cap number of 100 in 1963. (and 90 in 1964, 84 in 1965 and back to 80 in 1966 ).January 19, 2011 at 12:33AM View BBCode
I think it could be an interesting option but you'd have to be careful people didn't abuse it by "going for it" and then bailing on the league.January 19, 2011 at 06:07PM View BBCode
adding on under the cap dollars from one season to the cap for another season just gets you back to the same old tanky dogshit salary leagues were supposed to get you away from.Pages: 1
