Pecker, I did read your post. Very concise, well stated and totally convinced me. You like to hear yourself talk. LOL !! Is the purpose of your post to help new owners to decide whose advice to take? Or, to help determine who are the better managers?

I don't really know just something that has been on my mind for a while and wanted to toss it out there. Just makes me mad when very green players who just started playing are giving advice to someone else. It hurts their game and I wanted people to see that just because owners are active in tons of leagues doesn't make then a quote good player.

Unfortunately, your right about who to listen to. However, there is also misinformation available as well. I was mislead. I also used good info , incorrectly. I started tradeing off vets. Got little return, lots of picks (Houston). Unable to develope, players lack of CPs. I made a bad team worse. I wanted to "do something". Hard to be patient when you first get a team. In addition,, I believe there are different ways of winning. Different goals within the game. I think i'm safe in saying "we"(both teams) have been successful in LDL. But, we do things differently. We have different plans. I focus on pitching, seem to get the most from what we have. Try to stay with same pitching developement and game plan. The O's have been less successful developeing position players. Your team on the other hand seems to be lucky at best..LOL !!!

I rarely seek advice from other owners and when I do I do it privately. Play, make mistakes, improve. I think seeking advice from other owners on every single draft and simple trade kind of defeats the purpose of playing. A huge trade or pivotal draft? Sure, get some advice but get it from people you have seen in action and who has given good advice to others in the past. Some owners are just jackasses and there is no need to give them ample ammunition and a forum to spew their nonsense. Just my two cents on it...

When I was in high school with Peck, he would wear a Burger King hat to school almost everyday. He was also in a band called Slap Happy.

Maybe he has an old sound clip he could share with everyone :D

pecker went back to post wanted to read some responses. I saw where tfarr had to kick in his typical childish comments. Did I ever thank you for that "experience"?

Todd was a good friend of mine. We don't talk much anymore because of that mess. He is still a very active owner and enjoys this game. I think we all could of handled it differently.

Sorry to hear of hard feelings on a personal level. There were so many angles to that whole mess. Besides the misunderstandings. Just glad it's done. Was sorry they left. Had good dealings with both before blow up. Didn't mean to rehash. His post just brought back memories.

Don't get all sappy on me!!

I thought I should at least defend him a little since he's not here anymore.

He's on his own now.

How info is used matters. I commented about Houston getting advice from you and me. We do have different game plans and different goals. Our suggestions would differ as well. Even trades can be viewed differently. Houston made me a very fair offer (player value) trade wise. However, there would be no benefit to him. He didn't need anymore prospects he can't develope. You could very easily look at his team and suggest polar opposite from me. With a different long range or overal plan.
