How is RoY, CY, MVP etc. calculated?

I ask, because I look at RoY listings...
1. 116 Sid Cook 169AB 2HR 31R 20RBI 6SB .290
3. 86 G. Evans 160AB 2HR 15R 23RBI 12SB .294
I wonder why Cook has so many more votes than Evans. (Personally, I like the #2 guy better, but I am partial to batting average)

The two players are actually tied in BA now at .293 and Cook is 40 points higher in OPS.
By the time the season is done I would guess that the @2 guy (Johnson I think) will be the ROY winner. He is a much better player the both these guys.

Runs scored is the big difference right now and could keep Boog from winning the award. Runs are every bit as important as RBIs in the formula.

at the time, the #2 guy, Boog Johnson i believe is his name, was hitting about .330

You had asked about Cook over Evans and I didn't see a difference between the two.
Johnson should end up the ROY winner when all is said and done. His grades are more setup for this game as ABE likes the power guys over the average guys. I doubt my player carries that high of an average all year either.
