I realize that Tampa waived them outright but why should they be listed as requiring options ?

I think this is probably a bug in all leagues, on beta and the main site. If you waive a player from the majors who has options, this probably happens.I'll look into this today.

Any player waived from the minors will still go through the waiver process

I waived them from the minor leagues, they're not being optioned from majors to minors, they're just being waived.

bart - I think he's saying they should be going through minor league options rather than major league.Tyson
