Let's say, hypothetically, your 40 man roster is a 90 man roster.

Can I just cut guys, and I ditch their salaries, like before? Or am I responsible until you all pick them up now?

you are responsible until we all pick them up. truthfully if we waited until they had cleared waivers and then picked them up we woudl only have to pay .5 mil (the vet minimum) and you are on the hook for the rest of their salary too.

the guys nobody else picks up you are on the hook for

But I CAN trade 10 of them for a fifth round pick and rid myself of their salary entirely.

yes. or trade 11 of them for a bunch of picks and get something for them. ;)

In the AML it usually costs something to get out of a cap problem, maybe throw in a prospect or draft pick. your situation is a bit different because you have many players and it is the initial draft so people are still looking to stock their teams

You can call them up and then demote them, see if anyone wants them for free.

You have until April 23rd to get under the cap, after that your team will be penalized through lost skill and ICs.
