Trading during initial draft

August 12, 2010 at 08:57PM View BBCode

For salary leagues, since the initial draft process will be at least two phases (OS 28 and under guys and then bidding for free agents), would it be possible to allow teams to trade without having 25 major leaguers during the initial signing period?

i bidded too much for all the wrong players.

(i think. why did some of them sign already? and when do i get to modify the bids, if i get to modify them?)

You can modify them now.

Day 1 processed shortly after the OS 28 draft was run. Each player had a 10% chance of signing. If the player decided to sign, the team with the highest adjusted compensation got him. (Bart cheated, I think. lol)

Day 2 should happen around 8:00 EST tonight, players will have a 25% chance of signing. Everyone can re-bid if they would like.

Day 3 is 10:00 tomorrow morning. 40% of signing.

Day 4 at 8:00 tomorrow evening. 55% chance.

And so on, as specified in this thread: http://forum.topindustrynews.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=274417 and also this one: http://forum.topindustrynews.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=274330

Hamilton - it is a good suggestion. I did something similar for the waiver page. Let me see what I can do on this tomorrow.

Ah. The other page is only showing the results from Day 1. The Free Agents page is what will be used to process things for Day 2. Then the "view bids" will be updated to reflect the day 2 bids, and the free agent page will be used for the next day. Make sense?

isn't it a whole lot easier if you just tell me what i need to know? the way a statue instructs a five year old? isn't that what this is all about?

ah, my latest round of bids was irresistable to those players.

statue, you're over the cap. read to deal out a pitcher now. i want one of those ones with the big salary. and then i am going to bury it in the bullpen.
