heckyea, i was at the game last night, R.A. Dickey continues to amaze.....what do you think should they make a deal to get Cliff Lee.....and if so, would you give up Mejia to get him?

I think the price tag for Lee/Oswalt is going to be way to high. If they do make a move i would expect it to be a pitcher on the next tier. Bannister/Carmona/Guthrie. I also thought the Mets would pick up a pitcher in the offseason so, who knows. :puzzled:

WFAN was saying this morning that the Twins and Mets are the favorites to land Lee. If the Mets do get him I hope that they don't give up their entire future. Seattle wants a catcher (Thole?) and my gut tells me that recently demoted Mejia is being stretched out to become part of a mid season deal

Thole/Mejia for Lee would not be at all terrible, assuming Lee would sign an extension as part of the deal. However, considering Lee's stance with Philly, I think he and Boras want to test free agency.

daren, i think there is zero chance lee does an extenstion with anybody. he is determined to go the free agent route and cash in big. i think that orginiates with him as much as it does with boras really.

now oswalt is a really different story, he has a decent contract (with a few seasons on it) with houston ready to eat some of it. now that is the kind of thing they should go after, no?

I agree, Tim...though Oswalt is not the impact pitcher he once was.

I wonder if he would want to play for the Mets. I don't think he has warm and fuzzies when it comes to the Amazin's.
