List of Changes for May 13th

April 22, 2010 at 06:32PM View BBCode

These changes will be moved into place on May 13th. We haven't had much time to work on new things the last couple of months because of all the server problems we've spent time on, as well as fixing bugs from the last round of changes - which were moved into place immediately. We have also been busy working on a football version of the sim.

- Trade Block. You will be able to write player specific notes about which players are on the trade block. They will have a special icon on the depth chart page. This was the top idea on http://simdynasty.ideascale.com/

- My Teams order. You can now indicate which order you want your teams to show up in the My Teams page.

We'll try to get some more goodies for you guys in July.

Thanks,
Tyson

In addition to these changes, we have a couple more enhancements in this update:

- There is a new League Stadiums page where you can see all of the stadiums in your league on one page, with links to the individual stadium pages.

- Each city has a new 10th logo option; logo images for this set were created by the talented Artistik. You can preview these logos at http://beta.simdynasty.com/logocheck.jsp?set=10 . Thanks, Artistik!

- Player photos on Dynasty Vision have been pre-rendered to load faster and look better.

Good to hear the Dynasty Vision photos are back! The other changes sound useful as well!

We have one additional update on tap for this update cycle. On the boxscore page above and to the right of Dynasty Vision, is a new "Sharing" toolbox to easily allow you to share your game across a number of social media platforms.

Now, this sounds like a minor update, but when you share a game on a social media platform, your owner ID goes with it. Thus, if someone follows the link to watch the game and actually joins the site, you'll get credit for that like any other referral. Either way, it's a great, easy way to share any game that is particularly noteworthy, even if it's just to E-mail it.

Artistik, Just gotta say that the new Milwaukee logo reminds me of Charlie Brown, for some reason! I'd be afraid to use it for fear all my pitchers will end up on the DL!

Arizona's Star Trek vibe is pretty cool, I must say.
I'm digging Detroit and Toronto, first impression.
Actually Milwaukee's new one is super sweet. That's the tops for me!
Minnesota is growing on me, somewhere between Sesame St's Count and the original book cover to Cujo.

Another new change is coming. We are going to slightly increase the number of 2B errors. The MLB median Fielding PCT for the last few years hovers around .984, but SD was usually above .990.

Actually, that's sorta what I was going for. M's are a great graphical element (I like symmetry) and I was messing around with an M on a yellow field and immediately thought of the ole blockhead. Since Milwaukee has long been known as a tough luck team, why not, eh?

Thanks! I had been kicking around the idea of the A as a star since my last logo set, this one seemed to work out OK. I also am a huge fan of blue and gold as a color theme (my school colors)

Both modeled after existing local franchises, the Pistons and Argonauts respectively.

Again, modeled after the Timberwolves logo, with minor changes to make it different enough to avoid any infringement issues.

Thanks for the positive feedback!
