Pittsburg is last in the NL in Homeruns and has no all-stars.

They do lead the league in stolenbases and my have the leagues best bull-pen. They look more like a team from the AL.

I believe it's what distinguishes them from the rest of the NL.

Will they hold on? Who has the best chance to unseat them?

I agree with your assessment of our league. I'm real curious about the AL and NL WS match-up though. Pitching puts STL. up on the rest of us in the NL. I always believed it took hitting to win in the regular season, but it's pitching in a short series. Two good SP's can dominate a 7 game series. Is there any NL team that can match the pitching from the eventual AL champion?

We will have to wait and see.

When St Louis raced out the the big early lead in the N.L. I couldn't imagine anyone catching them. They looked solid all around. Now that it's a race I'm taking a closer look. The Chicago club is stacked w/ LH hitters who are eating up the leagues RH pitching. They lead everyone in batting average. St Louis has those two pitchers and yet Pittsburg is in first. This is exciting!
