It's just ignoring reality to say that no one cared that he died, most anyone who grew up in the 70s and 80s cared about that. It's the inappropriate level of mass grief afterwards and especially at the memorial service that struck most people as sick. That and the bashing of anyone who pointed out that Jackson isn't the Messiah...

I did, after all, qualify my first, hyperbolic statement.
I actually understood what Magic said about Jacko opening doors, and agreed with him. I am sad that he was abused by his dad, and that his talent apparently descended into madness.
He was an amazing performer, and made old rock 'n' roll farts like me sit up and take notice.
I hope he finds peace in the next life.
