ABE Seals Baltimore's Fate it Seems

After balooning my bullpen's ERA, WHIPS, etc... and suddenly deciding that the MVP from two years ago is just a mere above-average player two consecutive seasons... ABE has now decided that I need to make my 14th DL designation. This time it's my leadoff man... and for damn near the res of the season. This is 1 of 5 A rated players in the league right now...

Unless the recently called up rookie can pull off a miracle, I just don't really see how this injury won't kill my team's chances at reaching the playoffs for the first time.

Three players remain on the DL, yet it is beginning to look as though the Privateers will not lose another game this season.

Happy 4th to you as well, Hark.... and my amazing winning streak comes to an end.... sending closer Rudey DeBerry BACK to the DL (resting him actually so I can bring him back for the playoffs hopefully). He won't pitch another game unless it's the 5th game of the ALCS... if we get there. Unfortunately for me, I now have to move a couple of guys who have been extremely unreliable this year into critical roles in the pen again in order to fill holes. I'm shocked, shocked at how well Dooin has performed in replacement of both Aybara and Thompson.

I was holding back from commenting in hopes of not jinx the streak! Interestingly enough... the Baltimore team in my other league was pretty much dead in the water and suffering from injuries like my Privateers. That team went on a 15-game tear as well within the past week or so. My team now has the same record as that team... which sits 6 games out of 1st and 3 up in the Wild Card now. The difference, their big streak was boosted by getting guys off of the DL. Mine took place despite putting key guys on the DL. I get Harnish back in 4 games... and Aybara back in 5... just in time for a final push against Cleveland. However, they'll miss the last 3-game series against KC tomorrow. I have a feeling that series will probably determine the AL playoff picture.
