Freehan, a four-time all star and catcher/first baseman now in his fourteenth season, played for the Detroit Tigers for most of his career before being traded to the Kings. A starter for his entire career, Freehan's primary role this season will be to continue to mentor young players, especially catching sensation Paul Perez, who has assumed the bulk of the catching duties. In a spot start, Freehan went 2-3 with a double and the milestone home run blast.
