Break up the Eggmen...

April 20, 2008 at 10:55PM View BBCode

My old nemesis has come on with a vengeance! Thirteen in a row at a time when the three teams ahead of him began to struggle. The race to the finish will be all kinds of interesting...

I can't say that I saw that coming this season either. It should be an interesting race in the AL.

The AL is shaping up to be a good race. Could see one or possibly two new teams in the playoffs than in recent years. Still a long way to go though, should be interesting.

Good to see everyone in the AL renewed for next season - I'm looking forward to seeing how my team stacks up in future seasons.

It's amazing to see how well my team does while I'm on vacation and not checking it :o

I'll have to go away for another couple weeks...maybe I'll finally win a playoff series!

Have I mentioned recently...

...how much my team despises the Eggmen?

No???

Well, they do!

However, I assure you that the two pitches that hit Zanzinger in game one were not thrown intentionally...

For sure, Walrus. Our two teams always go at it full tilt! Your guys keep getting the best of my guys, but the Monarchs just keep plugging away. Maybe we can have a good showing in the finale behind the dynamic right arm of Dwight Gibson.

Then again, maybe not. We lost all three games in the series by a combined total of four runs. This was a dismal showing by the so-called kings of charm city.

And with the KC bullpen in shambles, [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=3259910]Tom Tamulis[/url] pitches into the 7th before [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=4371015]Scott Daviault[/url], whose roster spot was in jeopardy before the series, comes in to record his first win.

Still, with Cleveland coming in to town it could get ugly in the bullpen...Gubicza needs to come up BIG in the early game.

Baltimore has opened up some space now....up 6 with 25 to go. The silver lining is that KC still has 6 games left against the Monarchs but we MUST go 5-1 or so to have a legit shot.

Don't look now...

...but Baltimore and KC have a three game set tomorrow.

And Baltimore exorcises some old demons, winning the first one 4-1.

With all my injuries (including a new one this week) and my really slow start, I am worried and a bit surprised that I'm still in first. If it wasn't for Baltimore and KC taking each other out and my deep bench, I would be in second or third right now.

Be careful what you wish for. If the Eggmen get hot, our next opponent is the Spiders :spin::P

I've had much better luck versus the Eggmen than Baltimore this season. Plus, the Eggmen are 7 back while Baltimore is knocking on my door. Both teams give me trouble but if I had to pick a team to face in a series or the playoffs it would be KC.

The Eggmen are, once again, thorns in my side...

A three game sweep, and Baltimore loses each game by one run (the first two in dramatic fashion). Ouch!
